Geologist Karl-Heinz Seelig visits

Geologist Karl-Heinz Seelig from Qld visited the block in early May on behalf of Prof. Rowl Twidale (an Adelaide Uni based global granite authority) who having been shown photos, wanted a much more detailed report on our very unique and special miniture mogote humps. Karl and partner Kristen spent several days investigating and we look forward Prof. Twidale’s insights. Of particular interest is the mechanism of their formation, with Karl speculating that the hundreds of hollows around the humps resemble mini granite gnammas and thus that water has been driving the erosion.
Karl discovered that an extensive mineral exploration license was granted late last year and includes about half the block – somewhat of a concern.
